OutsideinDC aims to make DC a more bike friendly city, and in turn a more fun, greener, and healthier place to live. OutsideinDC is built entirely on open source software. The underlying framework is Drupal v6, one of the best open source content management system in that world, which runs on PHP5 and MySQL. Mapnik, a C++/Python GIS toolkit, is drawing all the maps and has awesome anti-aliasing rendering. The site is hosted on Apache, and we used SVN to handle all the versioning, including versioning for the mockups, which were done as SVGs in Inkscape, an awesome open source vector program.
